Pavilion (Unbuilt)
During Alaska’s seasonally lengthy twilight and evening hours artificial light is an important aspect of daily life. This yet to be constructed pavilion brings a striking, yet understated display of light, with strong three dimensional qualities that pedestrians and adjacent building occupants alike may enjoy.
The combination of continuous LED edge lighting, which warm its edges, to seamless washes of light from the pavilions ceiling, and a ceramic fritted glass enclosed seating area this concept is in stark contrast to the existing heavy and dark structure it will replace.
